As the Coronavirus pandemic continues, pregnant women across Bracknell Forest are left wondering when they will be able to meet up with other women going through similar to them. New mums speak of the added isolation of their family not being able to meet the newborn baby for weeks or months, them not being able to share in the baby’s developmental milestones or special moments. First time parents trying to figure it all out without family support can be stressful and overwhelming.
Home Start Bracknell Forest, wanted to do something to connect pregnant women, recognising how crucial friendships can be throughout pregnancy and beyond. Home Start’s ethos is to support parents as they grow in confidence, strengthen their relationship with their children and widen their support with the local community.
Bracknell Bumps virtual group launched on 11th May 2020 – ‘Mums to be’ join our private Facebook page and are then able to access the weekly virtual Zoom meet ups, hosted by Home Start Bracknell Forest and a registered midwife. The group provides the opportunity for mums to connect with one another, share their experiences of pregnancy, whilst being able to ask any maternity questions and hear from invited guests who speak on topics of interest.
