How you can help
There are several ways that you can help Home-Start Bracknell Forest in a voluntary capacity:
- by supporting a family as a home-visiting volunteer
- by supporting families in group settings
- by helping us with fundraising
- by becoming a trustee
We also have a small number of opportunities to help us out at events.
Home-Start Bracknell Forest’s family support (home-visiting) volunteers bring a wide variety of background skills and experience to their role to reflect the families they support but they all have parenting experience. All volunteers attend a 30 hour preparation course and are carefully checked before being placed with a family.
The Home-Start Bracknell Forest Board of Trustees is made up of local people from a wide range of backgrounds. The main requirements of a trustee are a real interest in the family support work we undertake and a willingness to be involved and active in the running of the charity. The committee ensures correct governance and is responsible for the financial security of the organisation.
