On Sunday 27th April 2025 Cllr Simon Carter showed his support to the Bracknell Town Mayor by running the virtual London marathon through Bracknell Forest to raise awareness and vital funds for Home-Start Bracknell Forest. After this amazing achievement we wouldn’t blame Simon for hanging up his running shoes & taking a well deserved break. However after smashing the Virtual London Marathon, he is back at it again, running in the Lexicon Half Marathon all in support of Home-Start Bracknell Forest! His dedication and determination are truly inspiring—proving that when it comes to supporting local families, Simon is always willing to go the extra mile (or 13.1!). We’re incredibly grateful for his continued efforts and proud to have him running alongside Team Home-Start once again.

Paul, Katie & Katie
Katie (far right) joined Home-Start Bracknell Forest as a volunteer back in 2024 & has been doing an amazing job supporting local families. When Katie is not volunteering, along with husband Paul she also runs a beginners running club. So when Katie heard that Home-Start Bracknell Forest were looking for runners to take part in the Lexicon Half Marathon to help raise awareness & vital funds, she put on her running shoes & recruited Paul & Katie to run alongside her forming a team of three determined runners ready to go the distance for a cause close to their hearts. Together, they laced up not just for the challenge, but to show their unwavering support for the families Home-Start Bracknell Forest serves every day.

Sam
We first had the pleasure of meeting Sam as the Quiz Master at the Bracknell Town Mayor’s Charity Quiz Night back in December 2024. Being no stranger to Home-Start, when Sam saw that we were looking for runners to take part in the Lexicon Half Marathon, he got in touch & offered to help raise awareness once again by swapping his quiz cards for running shoes! Sam signed up for the challenge without hesitation, showing his continued commitment to supporting local families and proving that whether it’s hosting a quiz or hitting the pavement, he’s always ready to go the extra mile for Home-Start Bracknell Forest.
